AROUND 20 000 people are expected to turn up for this years annual firework display in Verulamiuim park.

This years event on Saturday, November 5 promises to be one of the biggest and most spectacular yet with 30 minutes worth of fireworks set off to a musical backdrop around Verulamium Lake. A stage show and funfair at Westminster Lodge will add to the evening’s entertainment.

The show is organised by St Albans Abbey with all proceeds from the event going to the abbey and the british Legion.

Entry to the park is by gates at St Michael’s Church, Kingsbury Mill, The Fighting Cocks, Westminster Lodge and King Harry Lane. Gates open at 6.00pm and the firework display starts at 7.30pm.

Advance tickets are on sale from the Alban Arena on 01727 844488. Ticket prices are £1 for a child (up to 16) and £5 for an adult. Car Parking is limited at the site. Do yourself a favour and park outside and walk to Westminster Lodge with the others. The atmosphere is great and you wont have the parking horrors and probably enjoy the display more.
